What is a sitemap used for?
A sitemap discovers candidate URLs; collection is limited to the registered domain and approved scope.
Method and interpretation
An HTML ZIP provides a source snapshot; a sitemap provides URLs to discover. Retain origin and collection time when normalizing canonical URLs, titles, text and links. Source readiness findings and externally observed search or AI exposure are different evidence types.
