How is the top-ten keyword share calculated?

Divide keywords ranked in the top ten by the observed keyword total, then multiply by 100.

Method and interpretation

Review crawl access, indexing signals and whether a page meets search intent. Compare rankings only within the same query, engine, country, language and observation window, retaining numerator and denominator. Recheck technical fixes separately from actual exposure changes.

Practical example

Illustration: 5 top-10 queries out of 30 valid queries is 16.7%. A later 6 out of 30 is 20.0%, up 3.3 percentage points. These figures explain the formula, not customer performance.
