Are average rank and top-ten share the same?

Average rank measures mean position; top-ten share measures the fraction meeting a threshold. They are not interchangeable.

Method and interpretation

Review crawl access, indexing signals and whether a page meets search intent. Compare rankings only within the same query, engine, country, language and observation window, retaining numerator and denominator. Recheck technical fixes separately from actual exposure changes.
